The Elizabethton Rescue Squad is a nonprofit organization that is supported by donations and health insurance. The department is made up of volunteers. Elizabethtown Rescue provides Emergency Medical Services to the communities of Elizabethtown, White Lake, Bay Tree Lakes, Ammon and Hickory Grove. In addition to answering 911 calls, Elizabethtown Rescue also receives requests for standby services such as at house fires, firework displays and different events.
The Elizabethtown Rescue Squad also provides Heavy Rescue services to all Bladen County citizens upon request of local fire or EMS. Elizabethtown Rescue is the first and only heavy rescue in Bladen County. The services provided include but are not limited to: vehicle/machinery extrication, water rescue, high and low angle rescue, confined space rescue, structural collapse rescue and land search.
