Elizabethtown Rescue Squad

Who We Are

The Elizabethtown Rescue Squad was established in December of 1969.  It was manned 24 hours a day seven days a week by volunteers who were called to pick up and deliver any patient, anywhere they wanted to go.  When Elizabethtown Rescue first started in 1969 the on call members would be called at home and asked to transport a patient from Bladen County Hospital to another hospital or to be taken home. Times have certainly changed and with that change has also come many improvements in EMS.  Today we are still a volunteer organization but we only handle 911 calls.

The Elizabethtown Rescue Squad is made up of many members that dedicate their time to help others.  We have a Board of Directors which consists of our senior members. Overseeing the daily operations of the squad are the officers that are voted into office each November, those officers consist of a: Chief, Assistant Chief and (3) Squad Leaders.
